Blake1978j Posted February 20, 2016 Author Posted February 20, 2016 Hated to miss this one! Sounded like a fight to the end, back and forth the entire 2nd half! Great showing, both teams!
Blue&Orange Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 That game could have went either way! SW had a chance to go up 7 and the ref didn't give them a timeout on a over thrown ball on a run out. Stevens was all alone for a layup and was overthrown and called TO falling out of bounds and the ref didn't give it too him. Dylan James comes down and hits a 3 to cut it to 2 within 5 seconds. Smh
Blue&Orange Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 SW was also short a starter Logan Dykes due to the flu....SW was out rebounded pretty bad and he could have helped in that department. Congrats to Mercer on the win. Faulkner had 25 and James had 28.

Smh Regarding not granting the timeout when the player attempted to call one while going out of bounds, didn't that rule change? That is no longer allowed, right? I know the rule changed in college and thought it had in high school.
First Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 This was a game of runs. Mercer led by 10 late in the second quarter. The momentum changed a little at the end of the first when there was a (shooting) foul called on a 3/4 court heave as time expired. SW then came out strong in the third and ended up taking a 5 point lead. Fast forward to late in the 4th and Mercer had built a 9 point lead with around 3 minutes left. Mercer then made a few bad decisions and SW took advantage. It ended up going down to the wire. Great game and environment in a showdown between two top 10 teams. Very fun game to watch!

BBallfan14 Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 The ref explained to the coach that the kid was on the line when he called the time out. That's why he didn't award the time out.
Blue&Orange Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Rule change was while a player is in air? Stevens was not flying in the air grabbing the ball to call a timeout. He looked down and saw he was inbounds but was falling out of bounds calling it. He didn't leave his feet to call it. Either way Stevens should have had a layup of the pass wasn't overthrown. Rare mistake by Gover. Govers basketball IQ is pretty fun to watch.
Blue&Orange Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Mercer stepped out of bounds twice going layup a and the refs missed that. Refs missed some calls but part of the game. On the timeout I guess the ref saw something others didn't. I was complaining per day, I was just saying that was when the game shifted. Stevens calling the time out said he had both feet in and called the time out. I wasn't on that end of the floor. Either way a great fun game to watch.
Blake1978j Posted February 21, 2016 Author Posted February 21, 2016 Glad I took the over! You had this one pegged pretty good! A lot better than my "homer" mercer by 20 prediction
