Dixie/Conner scrimmage

Any details?

Dixie is going to suprise some people. I had heard they were going to be so so. I was impressed in what I saw yesterday. Both sides of the line were big and could move, many kids who could catch and run with the ball and all had speed. Not sure of starters but it looked like to me Dixie will for once have the luxury of having kids go one way. I dont think many of them are going both ways this year. They seem to be very deep, athletic and hard nosed. I again was impressed in what I saw.

I think they looked good in some area's and still working in others . It seemed like they had a core of players on "O" and another for "D" ! With alot of players going in and out on both sides of the ball !!!:thumb: I liked what I saw this early in the year and they seemed to be in good shape !:ylsuper: "TEAM BALL " Keep them working "HARD " SR's !!!:thumb:

Gooooooooooooo Colonels :fight: :fight: :fight: " DIXIE PRIDE "

Any details?

I think on the scoring part , Dixie had 2 td's and Conner had 1 td on "V" . And on JV it was 2 TD's each .

A sophmore laden, district champion team isn't going to surprise anyone this year. They return a lot of starters, and all the new starters have varsity playing experience. Also, Spritzky has had the luxury of running most of the guys one way for the past few years. I think when they lost to Trinity a few years back with O'Toole at the helm, he realized that he has to commit to one-way players, if possible, to play with the big boys. However, prior to that, he never really had the players to do so.

This year, this team should not start out slow like teams of the past. There shouldn't be much experimentation in the first 3 games, so I'm hoping for competitive games with the Birds, Tigers, and blue colonels.

Ditto.... We have a few new kids who, for those of us who watched the team last year, will find a nice surprise. But most of them are already well known to us Colonel fans. The first one that comes to mind is Jared Lucas's cousin who did not play last season, he will be a nice addition. He scored one of the TD's Saturday. Sorry, can't think of his name at the moment, having a brain cramp.

WR or RB? Size?

WR or RB? Size?

Could be either, but I believe he's playing WR/slot on O.

What about question 2? :D

Dixie the last couple years have not been far off of being able to upset teams. Perhaps this is the year, I did hear that they look good so far and should be able to be a contender. This team could be a big surprise.

People keep saying they (Dixie) are going to surprise people. How are they going to surprise anyone??????????? Please explain a little more why they are going to surprise people. Do they have a bunch of new players that no-one has ever seen or heard of? They are the defending district champs that return almost everyone, including their qb.

WR or RB? Size?

I think they had him listed at 5-10 around 170. Wears # 15 and is very fast !!!

Thanks. :thumb: Sounds like he's roughly the same size as his cousin.

Suprise is exactly the word that should be used. You amd your fellow Colonel fans may be excited but if you asked everyone in Northern Ky who the top teams would be, Dixie (right or wrong) probably would not get mentioned. Dont mean to hurt your feelings but that is the truth. That is why you keep hearing the word suprised. As far as the district champs, (a district that is weak year in year out). With all that said as my previous post said, Dixie should be good, what I saw I was impressed with. I wish them the best of luck. Dont get your feelings hurt when the word suprised is used, lay low and go kick some BIRD butt.
