Chicago Police Officer Shoots Kills Suspect and Bystander Then Sues Estate of Suspect

Featured Replies

A Chicago Police Officer is suing the estate of a suspect that he shot while answering a domestic disturbance for $10 million.

The officer responded to a call made by the suspect at his father's house. The father had also made a 911 call. When he arrived he claims that the suspect charged him and swung at him with a baseball bat. The officer opened fire, killing the 19 year old and a downstairs neighbor who was standing nearby. The suspect's family has disputed the Officer's account and has filed a wrongful death suit. The officer is suing the family due to the trauma that he suffered as a result of killing the suspect and bystander.

The Chicago Police Department really didn't need this.

Once attorneys get involved... Only surprise here is that the attorney didn't think to sue the bat manufacturer.

As funny as that is, you are right.

Bats kill people. We have to outlaw them in every home and stadium around the nation. It's an injustice that we allow our youth around such a potentially dangerous object.

They will get around to that next.
