Roger Goodell wants two personal fouls to equal ejection

Featured Replies

They have to define what a personal foul is better.

A guy running onto the field to shove another player whilst wearing a cape is currently a personal foul. That shouldn't be grounds for ejection even if you do it after every play.

A helmet to helmet hit on a defenseless receiver, now that's a personal foul.

I agree about a mandatory review process if that's the case.

This is a tough one as because as UFMF said, all personal fouls are not created equal. Let's say a guy gets a personal foul for hitting a QB in the knee when he is engaged with a blocker or for hitting the QB's head when rushing and trying to block the pass. Both are personal fouls but are not the same as teeing up a defenseless receiver and drilling him in the head. Yet if this happens in the first quarter, the player has to basically play scared the rest of the game. The more I think about it, I don't like it.

I don't disagree with the notion they should be reviewed but games will be extended by 30 min in some cases.

Agreed! Shoot technically a face mask is a personal foul and I hate that it could lead to you ending up being ejected.
