January 23, 201610 yr If Brady had all his weapons healthy the entire year, we would not be having this conversation. Carolina plays in a weak division (Even weaker than AFC East) and plays a lower tier schedule. Patriots plat a top tier schedule EVERY year. If Carolina had to cope with the injuries the Patriots had this year, they would not be a play-off team! Yeah, I'll give Cam the MVP, but is he the b est QB? Hell No! I hate the they play in a bad division bull crap. Yes some divisions are better than others, but this is the NFL we're talking about here. Also Carolina won their division last year so therefore they play a first place schedule just like New England. They went 15-1 without their top receiver the whole year. They would have easily won their division and probably still have gotten a first round bye if they had a few more injuries along the way.
January 23, 201610 yr I hate the talk that the MVP is all about stats. If you've watched Cam play even one game this year you know that he is the MVP this year and it really shouldn't even be close.
January 23, 201610 yr Just my perception - lots of folks can't stand that Cam has sorta flaunted the NFL's "other acronym" (No Fun League).
January 23, 201610 yr Cam. I enjoy watching Newton he reminds me of Favre with his childlike enthusiasm.
January 24, 201610 yr Everyone makes a big deal about Aaron Rodgers performance this year without his #1 WR Jordy Nelson. Keep in mind, Cam Newton has been missing his #1 all year as well. Ted Ginn can stretch the D, who on GB is able to with Nelson out? Jeff Janis?
January 24, 201610 yr MVP don't mean squat without a SB ring to go with it. Then why do they give out a SB MVP and regular season MVP? Should they just wait until the SB is over and hand it over to the winning team's QB?
January 24, 201610 yr Then why do they give out a SB MVP and regular season MVP? Should they just wait until the SB is over and hand it over to the winning team's QB? Why does it have to be a QB? Lots of impact players on many teams. Gronk comes to mind, big difference when he's playing. Peyton Manning made a huge difference when he relieved Oz.
January 24, 201610 yr Then why do they give out a SB MVP and regular season MVP? Should they just wait until the SB is over and hand it over to the winning team's QB? Serious question here. Does the SB MVP and regular season MVP go to two different players? Has anyone ever received both awards in the same season? Has anyone besides a QB won these awards, if so who was it?
January 24, 201610 yr Serious question here. Does the SB MVP and regular season MVP go to two different players? Has anyone ever received both awards in the same season? Has anyone besides a QB won these awards, if so who was it? Pretty sure you know the answer of whether or not a non-QB has won the MVP. The discussion right now is between 3 QBs. With how the league rules are now, QBs all have eye-popping numbers.
January 24, 201610 yr Since 2000, 4 rbs have won NFL MVP. That's the only non-QB position to win since 2000. Since 2000, 6 non-QBs have won SB MVP. 3 have been defensive players. 10 have been QB.

Will Manning receive any either or both of the MVP awards?
January 24, 201610 yr Sooooooo, if Manning wins today and then goes on to win the SB, your going to have to add a spot to this poll. Will Manning receive any either or both of the MVP awards? I could see him winning SB MVP if they do win. But if Cam wins MVP but loses the SB to Peyton, does Cam's award not mean squat?? Does that mean Peyton's play this year was more valuable than Cam's since his team won the SB??

Does that mean Peyton's play this year was more valuable than Cam's since his team won the SB?? Lots of good questions. It will be fun to see how this plays out. I will say that the QB who wins the SB(obviously the main goal) and is the MVP of the SB would have some bragging rights over the regular season MVP. Enjoy the games.
