Clyde Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Supreme Court will rule on President Obama's immigration plan Appeals Court said it was illegal. Now going to SCOTUS.
Jumper_Dad Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 I expect SCOTUS to reverse the lower court
Getslow Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 It'll be an interesting case for this court. On one hand, you have guys like Scalia and Thomas, who, are dedicated to the principles of conservatism and limiting the president's ability to act in this way. Then you've got a guy like Roberts who seems mostly dedicated to the conservatism of the court, rather than politics. He gives great deference to precedent and the historical rulings of the court... and the court has historically been pretty deferential to executive orders. I could see this being a really interesting vote that doesn't go along the usual lines of division. Like the ACA case, Roberts could be more of a swing vote than Kennedy.
spindoc Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 I'd be more interested in Obama's personal emigration plan.
jericho Posted January 19, 2016 Posted January 19, 2016 Great, we get to keep paying for 4 million illegal immigrants. More money taken from my family to pay for an illegal person who shouldn't be here anyway, but snuck across the border to have a kid so they can claim the kid as a US citizen and give them the right to welfare. What a freaking rip off the working class gets.

What a freaking rip off the working class gets. And so many people wonder why/how anyone could vote for Donald Trump. You my friend just gave the number 1 reason. Working class folks are tired of adding to the freebie line.
