Day 1 of practice for Ivan and his Devils begins today.

Can the Devils repeat?

I look for Mercerburg, Belfry, and the OC to be tough again along with Newport.

Any thoughts/

Yes, I belive that Russell will definately be in the mix to repeat this season. Having sad that I will still stay with my Belfry pick for this years title. I do belive that they are the two front runners just as they were last year imo. I don't know whar O. Cath will have coming back, they may be a factor. I just think that Russell and Belfry are much better.

Having Battled Belfry twice , the most physical team wins , period. From a pure physical standpoint , Kasey will be unmatched this year in 2a football. The Devils have to replace the clutch passing of a physical Tommy Brown. And physical play of several other seniors. I think this years Devils will do this with pure numbers , this senior class is huge for a 2a school. Bring on Greenup , let's get started.

Russell will be the favorite going in but don't count out Newport. Their new coach had them ready last year and with a taste of the playoffs and the new field renovations, emotions should be running high. Good luck to all the teams.

Do you mean you are "unmatched" in what way?

Total combination of size , speed , toughness , experience and pure athletic ability again at the 2a level. Kasey has this ....

Clark is a great talent without a doubt and will put a finishing touch on a super career but he can't do it all alone. It will take a total team effort on both sides of the ball and the new starting QB will really have to mature very quick. There are some unanswered questions as there are for all teams beginning the season and as the season nears everyone has high hopes to be a success.Should be a fun year.

Better not overlook Mercer getting Harrodsburg kids this year.

You are exactly right:thumb: . Harrodsburg always has kids with speed and some very talented players. Combine those two tangibles with Mercer's and you have the making of what could be a powerhouse.

As I understood the new playoff format, Russell wouldn't have to see them until the Pizza Box though. Of course that may have changed since June...

What exactly happens in playoffs after Round 3 and where will Devils play in Round 3 home or away?

The reddevils will be at home and will play the winner who comes out Corbin's district

When was that decided?

2a is the weakest class in the state. Russell's district is a joke! I do not see Russell repeating this yr. and i definitely don't see them goin undefeated. I see them loosing say ohh maybe the second game of the season:sssh: :jump:

When your team(Ashland), A.) wins its class and B.) wins against Russell, you can gloat. Until then its just crying. :sssh:
