Jumper_Dad Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 35-0 with 4 minutes til the half and it's not even that close. Stanford has done everything they have wanted to do. 75yd TD pass to McCaffrey on the 1st play. Fake Fumble for a TD INT return for a TD McCaffrey had 100 yards total O 3 minutes or so into the game. Iowa is focusing on him and it doesn't matter, he still gets his yards every play.
Jumper_Dad Posted January 1, 2016 Author Posted January 1, 2016 McCaffrey 232 yards and 2 TDs so far with 2 minutes left in the first half.
OlDog75 Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Good thing Iowa's band showed up. Their football team is nowhere to be found.
futurecoach Posted January 1, 2016 Posted January 1, 2016 Show much for Iowa passing the eye test we heard people talk about during our nhp rankings.
Hatz Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 The Big Ten is having a tough ime in the Bowl Games except for OSU and Michigan
Jumper_Dad Posted January 2, 2016 Author Posted January 2, 2016 Iowa winning the second half 9-3 :dancingpa Still trail 38-9
GrantNKY Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Wow the committee really got it right this year.....
Jumper_Dad Posted January 2, 2016 Author Posted January 2, 2016 Wow the committee really got it right this year..... You think Stanford should have been in final 4? or should have played someone better in this game?
futurecoach Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 Wow the committee really got it right this year..... Hey the committee was following the same thinking you were apparently having. You were one talking up Iowa even though they didn't play or beat anyone and was the reason why they were undefeated. You also was HUGE on the Oklahoma bandwagon, even though two of their best wins came against teams who were playing backup QB's for the first time. Now Michigan State earned their way in, by winning with their backup QB at OSU. As for Stanford, I don't think this shows that they were a top 4 team. I think it shows more just how overrated Iowa truly was. The three best teams in the country IMO are Bama, OSU, and Clemson. Now that 4th spot is a huge question mark and would be different on any given day lol. So while we disagree on a lot. I do think we agree on that it would be perfect to have an 8 team playoff. That would settle a lot of things IMO. IMO these 8 would have made a great playoff. Clemson Bama Michigan State Oklahoma Stanford Ohio State Notre Dame Houston
GrantNKY Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 You think Stanford should have been in final 4? or should have played someone better in this game? Realistically I just wanted Ohio State and Stanford to play in the Rose Bowl. I thought when the playoff games were announced that Ohio State and Stanford were 2 of the 4 best teams in the country, but I couldn't logically say beyond the eye test that they deserved in over Michigan State or OU until today. So to answer your question, yes I think Ohio State and Stanford should have been in the 4, but I would have been much happier if it was Ohio State and Stanford in the Rose Bowl.

In hind sight we can always argue that Bowl Winner X deserved in over Bowl Loser Y. I couldn't have put either in the top 4 over Clemson, MSU, Alabama or Oklahoma but I agree they should have played each other today. But coming in a defacto 3rd in the Big 10 kept OSU out of the Rose.

I have to call bull on the bolded lol. For the last month all you talked about how Oklahoma was playing better than anyone in the country, and how they should definitely be in it. Now after Oklahoma gets embarrassed by Clemson, you say that you were thinking Stanford should have been in over them? You were in love with Oklahoma, and now you try to stay you thought Stanford and OSU should have been in over them all along? (Well apparently it won't bold the section I am trying to bold)

I still think Oklahoma is better than they showed last night though, at least there offense is. But I agree, how could someone not want an 8 team playoff? How epic would it have been this year.
