That sucks.

He was in rough shape. He probably lived enough for a couple of lifetimes, though.

He was on Maron's podcast a few months back and I'm pretty sure said he was still taking speed.

I love Motorhead. I got to see him in 2012, and Motorhead was great. I have a friend who saw Motorhead live a few months ago, and he said Lemmy looked bad....very thin and gaunt, was using a cane to get around, but he still rocked out. It's been said he drank at least a half gallon of Jack Daniels everyday and smoked 2-3 packs of cigarettes as well. There's a famous quote that says "Lemmy makes Keith Richards look like a Golden Girl"

He was truly a Rock Star. Lived hard, played hard, and his music was hard. He was also much more of a musician than most gave him credit for. RIP.

Dude's liver must have been made of iron.

I saw that he was diagnosed on 12/26 but it didn't say if it was this December.

Lasted two days after diagnosis. That is crazy. Article I read said he has been smoking for 57 years and averaged two packs a day. With his partying, drinking, smoking, it is amazing he lived until 70.

He was given 2-6 months to live on the 26th. Apparently, after his 70th birthday party, he wasn't doing well, and was having trouble speaking. He was taken to the hospital because they feared he'd had a minor stroke. The tests revealed a very aggressive form of cancer that wasn't treatable.
