Hope we get to play you this year as we have 2-3 girls who are in the "very fast" category. It would be nice to compare talents as softball continues to blossom in the state!

Which travel team does the McKinlee Miller kid play for from Campbell County who is the fastest kid in the state? Curious if we've played against them and anxious to see her play.

 

She plays 14u for the NKY Stealers. I am sure there are many girls in the state that can run and that I have not seen play, but I do know as far as watching some of Millers games, the girl can flat out run. She plays a great center field and hits left handed. Granted she still has a lot to work on, as do most of these girls because they are so young but I will be willing to bet by time she is a senior she may be one of the better players around. Good Luck to all teams as the season begins. Hopefully this rain goes away.

I am pretty sure I know who she is and she is a very nice player with great speed. I hope it didn't appear that I was suggesting otherwise. Some of our girls have played with the Sluggers, the Cyclones, the Crush and the River City Outlaws over the last 3 years and I think we played the NKY Stealers a time or two in Northern Kentucky between those 3 teams. Should be a fun season and great talent in this freshmen class across the state!

How about an updated list based on the Season this far?

I'd agree on several of these I've seen during travel season. 2019 class is loaded with talent from one end of the state to the other. Goedde, Gardner, Keeney, Blane, Patterson definitely get props as great players from this area. But I have a "watch list" of my own from the western part of the state with some girls that might need an honorable mention on this list:

 

1. Gracie Lusk-(She's an 8th grader, class of 2020 but I have to put her first on the list). Plays for Hickman County and plays travel for the Fury organization. Gracie is a triple threat at the plate and the best 2020 pitcher in the state. Expect D1 interest to start rolling in for her very soon.

2. Gracey Murt-Marshall County pitcher/utility. She's offensively and defensively solid and comfortable no matter what she's doing for her team. Ditched St. Louis Chaos to go play for the Worth Cobras. Gracey has the potential to be one of the best that ever comes out of Marshall County and expect her to go D1.

3. Moshi Glover-Caldwell County utility/catcher. Moshi is the fastest base runner in the state. Home run hitter who intimidates just by stepping in the box. This kid will go D1. Plays for PTown.

4. Mackenzie Durbin-McCracken County's big girl coming up. Lots of attitude and will be hard to beat at the plate when she has a bat in her hand. Plays for Legends, formerly Paducah Lady Storm.

5. Lexi Carter-McCracken County infielder. Plays for Worth Cobras and was a former Paducah Lady Storm standout. Lexi makes the game look effortless and packs a punch on offense and defense.

6. Katie Franklin-Caldwell County pitcher carrying the varsity load. Diamond in the rough. Best kept secret in the state. Plays for PTown.

7. Any freshman playing for Johnny Blane in Christian County. This team is stacked with D1 potential and will be your 2019 KHSAA state champions.

8. Emily Pace-McCracken County. Nobody works harder than this kid and expect her to be a big part of the McCracken County continued success in that program.

 

Just my two cents on what I've seen in school and travel ball. I'm sure my list could be disputed by some.

I have some exposure to many of these girls and I feel like this 2019 class may be one of the best in history of the state! I know that in the Louisville area there are some incredible freshmen, albeit not as many pitchers, but just truly great players. At our school, the one player listed on the pre-season list is a really nice player but there are 4 or 5 other freshmen as good and in many instances better. Great strong class across the state!

I'm looking forward to watching the 2019 class develop. I think there is a lot of talent loaded in that class and 2020 that are going to get Kentucky a lot of publicity as a strong softball state.

First off I am new to message boards. As a father of one of the girls named it is humbling and nice to have her mentioned with this outstanding group of girls. I don't know all but know many of them and they are tremendous ball players. I read this back when it first got posted. A good friend of mine that has guided me thru our softball journey told me about this board. I've been checking every so often and reading everyone's replies and just shake my head. There is no way to make a list of top 10 2019 girls. There is so much talent in this class and 2020 coming up. Ones have been named, and there's plenty that hasn't been named. The whole point of this I guess is we should be talking about the talent level of Kentucky softball. Our state has grown and we have more ky girls on college rosters than ever. Just look at our state colleges, they use to have very few ky kids and now they are signing more and more homegrown talent. And there is plenty of ky girls at out of state schools too. The older girls that have came before this class set the bar and gave them a standard to reach, and in turn the 2019 class will drive the younger classes to surpass what they achieve. It's how it's suppose to work. Just makes this game we all love get better and better.

I am bumping this thread up to see what the experts have seen in these first 1 1/2 months of the season. I know that I've seen many fantastic Freshmen and curious what everyone else has seen!

Some impressive freshman stats from MaxPreps:

 

Brianda Owens (Clay County) is batting .444 and has a 14-2 record with a 0.86 ERA.

 

Brylee Hage (East Jessamine) is batting .482 and has scored 34 runs in 23 games.

 

Bailey Conley (Harrison County) is batting .500 in 14 games and has a 3-2 pitching record with a 2.38 ERA.

 

Hannah Hunt (Greenup County) is batting .453 with 24 RBI in 23 games.

 

Those are just a few that I saw. Of course, most teams don't post stats to MaxPreps and some that do don't always keep them completely up to date, but they still provide for some discussion.

Great information and thanks for the update on that! We have several really talented freshmen at Assumption and we know so many great talented freshmen in this region/area so love checking in on other areas where we don't get to see the players as often!
