It blows my mind that I didn't get this one because this song has been on my radar for a while for a number of reasons.

 

A few years back it dawned on me that there were 3 different songs named "Forever Young"

 

The first one written and performed by Bob Dylan.

 

Another one by Rod Stewart that is different, yet there are lyrics in it that are very close to Bob's version.

 

Then Alphaville's "Forever Young" that you quizzed us with here.

 

I hadn't realized that One Direction did a cover of it, or Laura Branigan.

 

About 10 years ago an Australian band named "Youth Group" was passing through Covington playing a small club while touring the states. I really dug them and had the pleasure of chatting them up for awhile. They never made a dent here, but the following year they had a Number 1 hit in Australia with a remake of Alphaville's "Forever Young".
