Older coach's eyes would seed the 10th like this. #1, Paris; #2, Augusta; #3, Brossart; and #4, Bracken Co. The other teams would be fillers, as the distance between them and the top four is pretty far this year with St. Pat leading them. Purposely lowered Bracken to #4, so Round 2 could take place no earlier than finals. People from God's Country know what Round 2 refers to.

#1 &4, Paris and Bracken in the top bracket to meet in semis. #2 & 3, Augusta and Brossart in bottom to meet in semis. Hopefully this sets up the Igloo to host Round 2 with an All A road trip at stake!

So this is all based on your random rankings? I was waiting to hear from the "eyes of oledercoach" who I was guessing has seen all 10th region teams play a couple of times?

Totally correct in your observation. I am guilty as charged, but suspect the rankings are pretty accurate. In fact (and this is memory, which is dangerous), I think BGP ratings were pretty close to mine with the exception of lowering Bracken Co. below Brossart to possibly create Round 2 no earlier than finals.

In fact maybe the Touchstone All A Committee might want to hire BGP to seed all 16 regions. What say others? Maybe this new source of revenue could be used to reward members for "Best New Idea". I think this post ought to win the first award.

Or the way PCROradio.com and I do it, you have the coaches send them in then average them.

Couple issues with seeding. Teams don't get a chance to play all others. Certain teams play tougher schedules so there are no apples to oranges. Can't rank them too early either, since you need several games played to properly evaluate and I'm guessing not many people get a chance to see every team play. I think teams like to know who they will be playing early so they have time to scout them.

Random draw, since there are too many factors, works for me. A lot of time it takes a lucky draw and in the end, you have to win your games no matter who you play.

I do believe in seeding in smaller settings where you get a chance to play each team. Not a fan of blind draws in districts where 2 teams go to the region. The best 2 could get pitted against each other in round one leaving one of your 2 best at home. In the All A only one team goes to the next round.

It would definitely spice things up at the box office.

With a Paris/Augusta upper, and Brossart/Bracken County lower, a "Round 2" would be a long way from being sure thing.

So teams like Brossart who play in the NKY conference would seldom be seen by a lot of the teams from the Southern part of the region. Hard for coaches to rank a team that they have not seen play. That's why I'm not a big fan of preseason rankings or statewide rankings.

Candidly, those four teams are so close, your guess is as good as any as to which would win the most in a four team round-Robbin format. Just a shame to bunch three in the upper and the fourth gets almost a free pass to the final game in the lower.

You can trust that Brossart gets seen plenty by the coaches and teams from the Southern part of the region. Might even suggest some coaches see them nightly in their nightmares...over and over and over.

Part of my point was the fact you wanted to seed the tourney today. I've been to all 3 Brossart games and have not seen any scouts from 10th region schools other than Camp. Co. and Scott.

Love the nightmare comment!

They need to do something, Bracken County's path so far is looking a little like Paris, Augusta, Brossart.

This is a gauntlet that's going to raise Hinson's blood pressure off the charts! I suggest that Bracken will win the 10th in March if they can navigate these shark infested waters this early in his tenure. May happen even if they get bit in this All A absurd blind draw.
