Once defenders learned to make him beat you from the pocket his two minutes were up. Countless accounts of how dumbed down the offense was for him as a rookie, and once teams adjusted he was not able to process the game, more specifically pass coverages. The game moves way too fast for him.

The game moves too fast for most young QB's. Teams adjusted to his game. He would have to make adjustments as well. I am not sure if he can but my guess is some team will take a shot and see.

Here is what hurts him and speaks volumes about his play imo. The redskins are paying him a lot of money, their own loves him. So for a first time nfl head coach like Jay Gruden to come in and bench the guy that the owner is paying a lot of money for shows how poorly he must be looking. Jay Gruden basically is putting his job on the line knowing he probably is fired if the stink it up with another qb, while he sits rg3. Which I think it shows that Jay made the right choice because Cousins has not done bad at all.

They tried earlier in the preseason. Simple reads a 4th year player should be able to make he couldn't do. Maybe it will click with him one day, but it doesn't seem to be trending that way.
