Just a quick Rule question. Isn't a 15 yard unsportsmanlike dead ball penalty on the Offense marked off from the line of gain instead of the original line of Scrimmage? No different than the Offense scoring a TD and then getting a dead ball Unsportsmanlike right. They don't go back to where the play started? Your probably wondering where I'm going with this....

Dead ball fouls are enforced from the succeeding spot. Basically it would go from where the ball is next to be snapped from.

So why would a Head Official blow a call that easy? You would almost of thought it was a makeup call from the play before where the Defense was called for a Questionable late hit out of bounds when I will admit clearly the Runner was inbounds. Noway that head official would take that into consideration. Or would he? We are all human and when things seem to be unbalanced we seem to find ways to even it out. Right? It's human nature!

This is why I commented on this thread and pointed out the very untimely penalties and miscues with the ones I witnessed. With the NCC muffed punt thread and now this one questioning the Politics involved with Officiating across the State and who should be entitled to call a State Championship game.

 

So with that I want to ask Clizzy a Yes/No question since he joined in with me on my little rant.

 

Would you want the Official that blew a easy spot foul that Ultimately put the Driving Offensive team in a hole and changed their Offensive strategy all together with less than 2 minutes to play? Would you want the same Official(s) calling a State Final game where the Stakes are at a all Season high? I know I wouldn't....How about you Clizzy? It's yes or no.....

And for the record I'm not complaining about the Dead Ball Foul. It's a judgement call and could go either way. In this case, it was the other way. It's the way the ball was spotted!
