December 2, 201510 yr Does anyone else have a Genie from Directv? I love this thing but it's getting worse in use by the day. It freezes on me. It lags on me. It acts like it is getting a poor signal. I did the whole CLEARMYBOX trick and it made it worse. I'm going to call them tomorrow and see what the deal is. I was just wondering if anyone else has had issues with their Genie boxes.
December 2, 201510 yr We have DirectTV and haven't had any issues (knock on wood). Buddy of mine has DirectTV and has had TONS of issues. I'd call customer service tomorrow. If you play your cards right, you might even get a couple discounts.
December 3, 201510 yr I have one and I have a very idiosyncratic glitch on my. Between the hours of of 8 and 10 on Friday when I record CBS the playback gets pixilated in spots to the point that shows can become unwatchable. It's very annoying because I really like Amazing Race and Hawaii 5-0. This is the only time or network that it happens on.
December 3, 201510 yr Author Update: The box became unwatchable shortly after I made the post so I just watched Netflix the rest of the night. The next morning the box wouldn't give me a picture. I had the Guide, it would change channels and everything but no picture. I called customer service and they made my unplug the DVM? box in my attic and reset the box and they zapped it a few times. After all of that it finally worked and I have a clear picture now. I hope it stays that way.
