I think Central is the team to beat in 3A. Boyle's Oline just not gonna sustain drives if the passing game falters against teams with real good secondary. I do think Boyle makes it to Central and if they had them at home I might feel a little different but I think Central would have to be favored in that game at home.

No they didn't. Boyle's JV played last of the 3rd and all the 4th quarter.

Central has returned TWICE that number! 4 of them were called back. Also at least double digit forced fumbles.

The last two Danville TDs Boyle had starters in. I was at that game. Boyle County fans always trying to make Boyle better than they are.

 

Don't be hating Boyle because most of us picked Danville over LCA.

Etown has a good defense and statistically we matchup well, but we aren't near at good as Boyle, Central, Belfry, and probably a couple others on defense. We have been fortunate to pad some stats with lesser competition. The positive is we controlled North well and they have a very good offense. I worry that we gave up so many yards to Adair. The good thing is we didn't give up many points to them- just yards. I'm happy we are even mentioned though for defense!! Much different than the past.

I don't doubt that Corbin could be the best defense or Central or Belfry. But when comparing the Danville/Corbin experience with Boyle/Danville - The Rebels put a running clock on the Ads and the last two TD's scored by Danville were against the backups.

 

Corbin has a very good defense, especially against the run. They held Bell Co. to 110 yards on the ground and 80 through the air, but they are still suspect against a good passing attack. Injuries have hit that side of the ball hard, although those young kids who had to step in starting with the Danville game have really improved over the last 5 games.

 

I would have to go with Central as the best defensive team, with Belfry and Boyle closely following, then maybe Corbin.

Just went back and watched highlights of Danville Boyle game and some maybe not all of Boyles starters were in game on Danvilles final TD with three minutes to go.

But beyond that I think Boyle has a very stout defense but I worry about saying they are the best because athletic receivers give them fits and can get behind them. Once they give up the long pass their run defense seems to get softer. Hopefully they can find a solution to this before they play Central or Catholic again.

I've found that when perusing the team stat pages that some are really good about being accurate, while some are not. On one particular team page it listed their well-known running back having scored 5 TDs on the ground. Right below that, in the scoring leaders list, it has the same kid with 8 rush TDs. How does that happen? And do I split the difference and say he's got 6 1/2 TDs?

Central ' s same defense that face Belfry and did well. I think with out shutdown corner Kendale Briggs Belfry has the edge. Cole,Raquan,Catron,and company will bring it.
