Livingston Central, Crittenden and Lyon all said they weren't playing during scheduling meeting during the spring. That leaves UHA, Caldwell and Dawson Springs (at least for the boys) in January, as of this moment.

I don't think the schools electing not to participate are missing out on anything. They are all from the same district and just end up getting an extra district game or two in most years. I understand their reasoning for not wanting to participate.

I wish schools wouldn't adopt that Lexington Public Schools mentality. It's just sad to me.

No it's saying we don't think it's logical to enter a tournament where more than half of the field is our own district. I don't blame them. I wouldn't want 1/3 of my schedule to come from district opponents either. It limits the number of different teams that can play to prepare for the postseason.

UHA is the biggest factor I don't deny that but having to play within their own district was another complaint as well. I'm saying I would hate that as well. As far as the boycott against UHA, I can see where they are coming from there too. The All A wasn't made for programs like that.

District thing is a weak argument. It is all about UHA.

Good call by the boys teams. You have no chance to beat uha so why keep showing everything to your district teams when if you win your district it's like winning the region for these small teams. The girls have a fighting chance so play ball.

As I have said before, the class A tourney was supposed to be for smaller schools who cannot compete year in year out with the big dogs. UHA has ruined it for years for those schools in the second region.

 

A better question is how is Caldwell still in the class A tourney?
