If you'll reread my earlier post, I referred to LexCath as having "first-class facilities." I made no value judgements whatsoever about their athletic programs in general. Since dawgs83's post came directly after mine, I can only assume his post was in response to mine. If it was in response to scooterbob's post where he referred to LexCath as a "first-class operation," then that post should've been quoted.

 

I know you referred to LC as having 1st class facilities. I basically agree with you that it's overkill on the level of spaciousness, etc.

 

I just interpreted the post by dawgs83 as his comment that due to LC's probation, THAT meant it was not "first class."

I don't know that the guy was exactly referring to just one of your guys posts?

I was simply responding because you seemed to conclude that dawgs83 thought LC was on probation "because" of the lockerrooms - which he did not say (that I could see)? Either way, no big deal - just diff interpretations;)

I think it is GREAT! No criticism here. I think your programs ought to be as first class as is affordable. The days of showering from a pipe next to the coal bin after practice are over and gone. If coaches and schools are going to ask/demand that their players bust their hull for them, then this is a good reward to come to and take pride in that they are a part of this program.

My team dressed in there for a panorama and it was amazing. It was so nice I felt uncomfortable using the restroom in it.

 

I don't have that nice of a video system in my house let alone at school.

 

You mentioned it might be better than some colleges. We also visited IU's locker room during a summer camp. LC's is better than IU's.

 

Right outside the locker room is a long hallway FILLED with pictures of LexCAth athletes in their collegiate uniforms. Makes a strong, strong statement to the LC athletes.

LexCath has been much more successful than IU (or UK for that matter) in recent years. Whether it be public or private, college or high school, when you are successful, the money flows into the coffers. Friends (and mere acquaintances) like to be a part of a successful program. And, again, no bleeding of public tax dollars is involved with LexCath. It sounds like good, old capitalism at its best.

The only thing I get tired of is the assumption that Catholic's players work harder than the rest. Bull! They have better players who work just has hard as the rest. That is the difference. All I will say their situation is just a little different as well. Deep down we all know it! The locker room is very nice!

The locker rooms are extremely nice. I used to be a D1 assistant and they rival any place I've been in. The biggest problem I see is that when the players are recruited they will more than likely have to go to facilities that aren't as good as those they had in high school. A lot of those players are not D1 and they will be disappointed in lesser facilities.
