What kind of offense does russell run? Defense?

Smashmouth offense ! They run, run, run, and run some more. Although they did throw more last year than in years past, especially during the championship run. :fire:

OK my devilish friends .....

it's not lookin so good for you when a TOMCAT knows more:cool: about your upcoming path to Louisville than you yourselves do  :sssh: :D

Mercer and Harrodsburg are consolidating. So to add to Mercers power you have H's "historical" speed. And if you follow some of the mercerberg threads on here you would know that they have already won the 2006 AA championship - no need for you guys to show up I guess

ALSO the new playoff bracket has Newport AND Mercerburg now in the western side of the bracket - so you guys would not see both of them, only one in the FINAL game. You need to check out soem threads on the new playoff changes to see what region you are matched up with and who that includes - Im not THAT up on 2A across the state.

have fun

You might clarify that its the vaunted Wing-T - very old school / Delaware.

Though with a little passing recently as you noted - not sure if Ivan is getting wild in his old age or some young asst talked him into this new fangled passing fad ;):D

Opinion: While I do agree that its a dominant run offense, I've always viewed it as more of a finese running style. It's based on misdirection setting up blocking angles and needs to be more precision than brute strength IMO. Russell has always done well with smaller lineman b/c of this - though of course we would all like the bigger fast lineman if a choice;)

I think this offense is the reason you see kids like Casey, Groves, etc. with good vision, cutting ability, and patience to read blockers excelling more as opposed to sheer straight ahead speed guys. I think a runner like S. Alexander would have done real well in this offense also. It's also often difficult to prepare HS kids in 1 week due to the keys and discipline required.

just my opinion

I can hardly wait for the first game of the season.

Have the brackets been set for Round 4 of the playoffs?

Funny....... I watched the passing league and nobody played their regular positions, is this a ploy to lure others into seeing what we dont have???????

I'm really looking forward to the start of the season. The first few games may not find the team firing on all cyclinders, but as the season progresses Ivan should have them tuned up and ready for a deep run in the playoffs.

Go Devils!!!

What I wanna know is what in the world happen to us at our own passing scrimmage not even making it to the finals???

They're still silent after that 32-9 loss at the Sweet Sixteen.

I KNOW I KNOW - I'M JUST KIDDING!!!

I'm just looking forward for high school sports to startup again!

Ouch!

I know that seemed like it was a football score, but it was actually basketball.

Yeah, but as all of the Russell fans have reminded me over and over - at least they were playing at Rupp that day! That's something I always wanted to do, but I was denied in the 15th region championship game.
