Bethlehem will not beat Campbellsville, they have too many athletes and speed to lose. Campbellsville will more than likely play Russellville for a regional championship. Injuries hurt them in that game though.

Without Young, its highly inlikely that Campbellsville gets out of the first or second round alive.

That is untrue. They will sweep district play and get easy 1st and 2nd round wins. Young isn't the whole team, they are 3-1 without him I believe, impressive with the only loss being to Danville, which is pretty good.

With a win or loss over Bethelem, cville would play Fulton Co. Or Fulton city who have a 1-14 combined record in the first round. If they run into Russellville in round 2 I would agree with your statement. However, I think they beat Bethelem, win two playoff games, and avoid Russellville until round 3.

Russellville is a great team. Campbellsville would need to play perfect to beat them. Getting to them will be the easiest part. If they had Young it would make it a lot easier but still a good challenge.I guess we will have to wait and see...

So shutting them out or putting up a running clock wouldnt give them a shot at moving up? Or are the two losses against teams that are likely stronger than anyone on the other top 5's schedule not named Belfry and maybe Murray, too much to over come unless they win the region? Then, if they win the region, do they have to beat Pikeville to jump over them? I could care less, just makes for interesting conversation, imo.

Both Pikeville and Raceland are 5-2. Strength of schedule is even. Pikeville's two losses are to teams that are better than Raceland's two losses (Belfry better than Ashland; Paintsville better than Valley). Raceland has a little better list of wins. I could see some saying Raceland should be ranked higher than Pikeville. I doubt that move will happen this week though. I think it is wait and see what happens in the Paintsville-Raceland game in two weeks.

I fully admit that I haven't seen Beechwood but I would have to put Paintsville at the top slot. Of course, I can't argue against either one be ranked #1. Raceland / Pikeville imo are very close and the same would go for them. I have been known (at times) to be a fraction bias and Raceland Homer (:sssh: don't tell anyone) so I would put the Rams at #3.

I agree and disagree at the same time. Bekfry has shown consistent issues with turnovers, while I dont think Ashland would put up a running clock, I think Ashland would beat Belfry, As for Paintsville being better than Valley, idk about that either. If going off of Valley only getting the one score win over Raceland, Im not sure that if their WR had not went down with an injury, if we would have been within 3 yards of winning that ball game. We had no answer for him and their QB is the best will will see, possibly all season and thats including if we were to make it to the finals, though the kid from Pikeville has garnered my attention as of late. Like you said though, alot of this will shake itself out when Raceland and Paintsville duke it out. As for now, the Rams are focused on not being tied for 2nd in the district and beating Fairview.

Maybe not BETTER than Fieger, but as good. He is definitely more atheletic and more of a dual threat than Roy. I think Roy is more of a pure pocket passer than can make plays when the pocket breaks down, but the Valley kid is a threat to do something whenever he has the ball, be it with his arms or with his legs. As of last week, Valley was ranked 1st in their region (out of 20+ teams) and 5th over all in their division.

So one could argue that given the same conditions, and home teams getting a TD cushion for homefield advantage the scores go

Paintsville 30 Valley (OH) 23

 

So, calpreps in essence makes your point if you take into account homefield advantage. But not by much. You know, it's amazing the depth of research we sometimes go through on these rankings, when essentially they mean nothing. But what do we has beens have to do?lol

If Raceland beats Fairview by more than Paintsville did I can see a jump over Pikeville.
