Interesting. I wonder if there could be a difference based upon where the "readings" are taken (front of the plate vs. back of the plate), and/or if there is a standardized height vs. a player-defined height. At least that's the first two things that pop into my mind.

One is a mirror of the other.

 

Looks like one is taken from behind the pitcher and see what he sees.

 

The other is taken from umpire perspective and sees what he sees.

 

If that is the case the only difference is high/low, but that can be accounted for by location as well.

I cannot stand when ESPN puts that box up during the whole broadcast. I want to watch a ballgame not a video game. They just keep adding more crap to the screen I feel like I'm peering around stuff just to watch a game.

TOTALLY AGREE!! I find the box totally distracting...
