Big game for Thomas More this Saturday at Thomas More. Who do you think wins and why?

TMC will need to stay undefeated to get the invite to the d3 playoffs. Got my fingers crossed in this one.

Washington & Jefferson is traditionally a tough game for TMC. I might go to this one.

Doesn't their conference get an automatic bid? I don't know much about Washington & Jeff. However, I'd have to imagine that this will be one of the defining games of the conference picture as a whole.

Every game is must win. WJ is a very tough team.

I know. We played them 4xs. My point is that they can lose this and still make the playoffs if they are able to win the Conference. Being at home gives them a good advantage.

Don't think so. They lose they are more likely out.

My assumption and this might be a bad one is the winner of this game should win the conference.

Only if someone finishes w/ a better conference record. The PAC gets a bid. They will never get an At-Large. They have to win the conference. They can't go undefeated if they lose any conference games, obviously.

I hope it don't rain tomorrow.

This is most certainly not true since they went undefeated in their non conference unlike the last two years. In fact, a one loss TMC team would be very attractive to the committee. Two losses? Should be pretty much done but depends on where they stack up on SOS. I'll explain how teams are selected based on the Regional Rankings as we get closer to the tournament.

Their shellacking of a very good and respected program in Fisher will pay dividends for them come seeding time if they win the PAC and to get them in the dance if they lose today.

They are also eligible for a Pool C (at large, as you call it) just by being in a conference with an automatic bid.

You are correct. These two programs are head and shoulders above the other 9 in the PAC.@

Correct, but a 9-1TMC is not getting an At Large. Those go to OAC schools or one of the Wisconsin's. Their OOC doesn't have enough eye catchers on it.

They don't go by eye catchers - it's a mathematical formula based on wins and losses. A 9-1 TMC team in 2015 is in the playoffs. The OAC #2 team may not even make the field. Those teams, because they have 9 league games, must not lose unless they lose to Mount Union. There is only two threats from the OAC for Pool C already after only 4 weeks: John Carroll and Baldwin Wallace. The rest have lost. And those two play one another. It's a down year in the OAC. WIAC is more complicated but there will be at most two Pool C Candidates from there.. And not on the board for discussion at the same time.

Here's how the committee selects Pool C: one team from each region is on the table - so 4 teams at most during each selection. When a team is selected, the next highest Regionally Ranked team from that same region then enters the discussion. And repeat. There will be teams from the MIAC and WIAC in the West, OAC and CCIW in the North.

Come up to the game today and Tailgate spots 40 and 41 : ask for Johnny Utah. I'll explain everything to you in better detail, it's hard to do on the computer. I also have a couple of the D3football.com guys coming, as we are going to be doing something for the website on this game.
