NKY Disappointment

Regarding the SK issue last night, several of the players, on both teams, had stopped playing at the point the ball was played out. Some of the field players and the Cooper coach were yelling to play the ball out. While a Cooper played played the ball out it was 50-50 who had control of the ball up to that point. I had no problems with SK, on any other team, in that situation playing the ball out as if nothing has happened.

SK is playing very good ball and playing well as a team. They have a tough week ahead.

But something did happen and the bolded portion is not true at all, there was no one within 10 feet of her. You say it was not clear who had control of the ball and also say the Cooper player played it out... which is it?

You are correct that players on both sides had stopped playing... someone appeared to be hurt. Yes, the Cooper coach and players were yelling to kick it out, and they did, it was the right thing to do and this is my whole point. It would have been nice to see SK also do the right thing.

The ball was 50-50 until it made it out to the young lady, who I agree, had no one around her. But all the yelling started before the ball ever made it out to that young lady.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this one.

Got to agree if the ball is played out for injury than the play is to return possession. Goal kick is a little different but it could have been kicked out of bounds.

What difference does it make when they started yelling to kick it out? She can't do it until the ball is at her feet.

No one around her and she made the conscious decision to kick it out.

I guess we disagree on what constitutes poor sportsmanship.

Goal kick is a little different imsays but their goalie had a strong enough leg to kick it out a good 35-40 yds up the field for a throw in.

I'll say this and it applies to every team and every sport. The regular season is for figuring out what type of team you want to be/what type of team you are. Maybe a coach had a plan going in but then realized for whatever reason that the players didn't fit that plan. It's back to the drawing board then. The regular season is nothing more than glorified scrimmages for the real season that starts with the District Tournament.

These games are not treated as scrimmages - not at this point in the season. The coaches are done with any major tinkering for the most part. Each team's identity has already been established. Each team's current strengths/weaknesses will still be there come district/region play. And that brings me back to my original point: after all coaching adjustments, which teams are still underachieving? Does everyone believe their favorite program has met all expectations? I find that hard to believe.

Do you find it hard to believe the NCC supporters believe their team has met and exceeded their expectations up to this point? 18-0-0 with an ALL A title, would bet they did not think it would be this good back when it all started on July 15th.

Of course anything less then a 9th Region title will be a disappointment, but your question above was posted on October 1.

I'd have to go with Scott, I think they are a big disappointment, after a team last year who had a chance to win districts they have flopped put this year. Unlike most Scott teams.

Scott certainly has struggled to put together any kind of consistency over the last few years.
