Not much change here. Should there be? Male has proven on the field they are number one, Trinity has proven against a strong schedule they are right there with them. How close is Scott County? How will Simon Kenton do in the second half of the season? Will Simon Kenton prove they belong? Is St. Xavier the real number six team? Are they better then we think? Can number eight Ryle prove they are king, in Northern Kentucky? Who should move up? Who should move down?

RAM, in the big Thread, you asked something close to "can anyone move the top 2 out of their position?". My thought is that St X is the only one who can. Why? Because they actually play both teams on the field during the season and the team that beat BG has a punchers chance to win (maybe just 1 of the 2).

X is better than #6 . If X somehow were to play SK again in a playoff scenario I would take the Tigers all day long and twice on Sunday.

Oh God, if I never hear "they get better as the season goes on" again I would be a happy man.

 

I'm going to start saying, "You can wait for Lit to get it right in week 10, or use the BGP rankings this week".

I use the BGP rankings most weeks. Thought it interesting and Frakes acknowledged Male dropped for playing the worst team in 6A (Seneca). Butler is not much better but perhaps things will iron itself out after Trinity faces J-Town, Eastern, and Seneca. Male's schedule is much stronger down the stretch.

I think if a team plays a bad team but continues to prove they are getting better and winning how they should (63-0 I believe was the score) then they should not be questioned. Now an example of a team in a similar situation doing the opposite that hasn't moved is Ohio State. They are playing teams in a similar situation to Male vs. Seneca and yet are winning by a touchdown and they have not moved a bit in the rankings.

It goes back to the blowout scenarios.

 

My questions are: Do scores weigh in to the Lit Ratings? How much are scores valued in the BGP rankings?

 

I realize these rankings mean diddly when playoff time rolls around. It's just something for us to talk about. But, last week Male was double digits ahead of Trinity. They both blow out their opponent (albeit Trinity played a tougher team in PRP) and now the Rocks are ahead by a slim margin.

 

Male could have beaten Seneca by 100 or more. No question about that. You would have been hard-pressed to find a starter in the game late first quarter. Running clock started at the end of the first.
