Been through this same scenario this summer with our local golf course. The company we buy our chemicals from got their bags mislabeled and we ended up putting several applications of herbicides on all our greens. This was in April, and by May the greens were basicly sand and dirt. Finally reached an agreement with the company and starting in early September all 9 greens plus the practice green are being redone by a golf construction company from Louisville. They'll have new soil, drainage, and bent sod when all is completed in November.

 

But that hasn't helped us this summer. We've putted on dirt greens and made the best of it. But they should be beautiful by spring.

Big cut in revenue as well? I can imagine a few folks didn't utilize the course because of the issue.

Correct. We didn't have much play this summer except for our members. Took a big hit on our annual invitational tournament. We usually have over 80 in the tournament but this year there was only 35, and 21 of that number were club members.

 

However, besides repairing the greens, the chemical company also compensated the club for loss of revenue. They were very fair with us.

Yep, they had to shut it down at the end of the season.
