Why Should I Not Like Christie?

Featured Replies

I'm creating this thread to become more informed. I don't know enough to take his side and debate against someone who doesn't care for him. But I like him and want to hear reasons why I shouldn't.

Why should I not vote for Christie? And just because "he's AWFUL", doesn't help me make an informed decision.

Every person has different values and criterion used so it's asinine for someone to tell you why YOU shouldn't like someone.

I understand your point. But I'd like to hear why he shouldn't receive my vote. I'm not as informed as I'd like to be and it seems a decent amount of people don't care for him and/or don't think he'd be good for our country and I'd like to hear why to help me make a more educated decision.

May sway me to think elsewhere, may not.

I'll tell you why I don't want him to be president. Take it for what's worth from an independent who can't vote in this primary.

One of his major policy approaches is that he would ratchet up domestic surveillance and thinks civil liberties get in the way of "keeping us safe."

His administration in NJ has been scandalized by using the government to punish political opponents by closing lanes on the George Washington Bridge. There's no "smoking gun" showing that the orders came from Christie, but it's in line with his bully persona.

I don't want someone to be president who both considers civil liberties a nuisance and has used the power of the government to injure opponents. Neither are good but they make an even worse combination.

Maybe I should have worded my initial question better, as you stated here.

Thanks for the response.

He reminds me of President Obama in some ways and President Bush in others.....the parts of each I do not care for.

I know plenty of Christie's and they are all real swell people. So I can't advocate a blanket no Christie statement.

The Christie running for President has little respect for civil liberties. Automatic no from this guy!

His disdain for teachers rubs me the wrong way. He fights them harder than the mob.
