Top Freshman in Louisville & Oldham County Area

Featured Replies

Having coached youth league in Louisville before coming out to Oldham County to coach middle school I was wondering who are the top Freshman in the area? I know some kids can be absolute studs before they get to high school and then fall off. I've been searching HUDL for videos and have found a few but want other people's opinion. Remember, these are opinions, but I would like some video or stats to back your opinion up if you can. :)

Shawn'kel Knight-Goff, and Jacobe Daughtery were listed in the freshman 450 list. I know they both played for the Kentucky Future Stars team..but thats about it.

WR/DB/KR Milton Wright (CAL) and QB Austin Carr (CAL). Two players if not the best, way up there.

Don't know anything about Carr but I have watched Milton Wright through the youth leagues and a little in middle school and he is the real deal. Have not seen a better Freshman player than him.

Those players are good for CAL. That might explain why they use a Junior for their QB in Freshman games? Any other Louisville Teams? PRP - Rico Beard or Shamar Dunkley? They were beasts in Youth but havent heard how they are doing. Thad Maxwell at Trinity? Doss has an awesome Freshman that played for the Seminoles last year but can not remember his name

Male is very talented. They got the best each of the three traditional middle schools had to offer. Offensive line struggling to find a rhythm but the skill players and overall defense have been awesome so far.

Beat Ballard 37-0

Beat Trinity 20-12

Beat Seneca JV (2nd half) 20-0

I had the pleasure of coaching Tyler Richie(sophomore @ Male) during Youth League. Hes a good kid and a good player.

Where is Shawn'kel playing high school ball? His brother Kel'shawn was hooping at Trinity for a few years before heading across the river last I heard. Great kid!

Best of luck to all the young men. Nice to see some of them getting the early recognition.

So, most of the time all you see is offensive highlights. Here is a highlight for Jacob Ratliff, Freshman at OC. In 6 games (4 JV and 2 Freshman) he has 35 total tackles and 3 Forced Fumbles.

Kelshawn is at Doss now I believe while Shawnkel was in the newspaper for Central after first game of the year playing DB vs Manual but isn't on Central roster football no more but is on maxpreps basketball roster for them.

Wright kid is a beast. Got to see him last year, he wasn't hard to spot!!
