OK, just read a facebook post from a mom at the game. It appears the final was 3-1. It appears one goal was called off due to offsides. I was in the end zone posting. Must have missed that they didn't kick off.

Sure would be nice if the bishop let Brossart build a complex on Gilbert Ridge. They would probably have a scoreboard there. Heard funding is in place and I'm sure the county commissioners won't spend a penny at Pendry.

It's a stupid rule in soccer where a player on the offense goes beyond the defense prior to the ball being passed thru the defense.

Also known in basketball as cherry picking. It's a risk reward move.

not exactly sure how much money has been earmarked or planned for the delevlopment of the Gilbert ridge property but heard there is enough to proceed. Bishop may think they are moving too quickly after completion of last project. I really think it would help keep them on par with other diocese and county schools that would help with enrollment and keep kids from driving down the back roads to Pendry.

You can't spend a lot of money when you're still carrying debt from a prior project. When the debt's paid, you're good to build if you have all the cash.

Makes sense but I thought all funds for the school were collected prior to completion? I know they had the commitments and I'm assuming there are some guidelines on place to make sure funding is enough to complete the project. Not that close to that part of it.

Some commitments are long term and most projects go over on cost. Every school building project over the last 15 years has caused debt, many in the millions.

But I'm not speaking on authority, either. Brossart may not have funds, for all I know. They've had a massive budget crises for the last two years. Major staffing cuts caused by declining enrollment. I'd be surprised if they have cash for such a project. Very surprised.
