some very strange calls last night

Looks like some of the new faces need to read their rule books, letting a runner run a Kick off out of the endzone is no excuse!

Not much called last night, after looking at the film holding and several cheap shots let go

From what I observed last night everything was good at where I was

A lot of these so called botched calls are fans just not knowing the rules. I have to chuckle to myself when a ref makes a call and fans who don't know the rules start yelling at the refs. I for one feel the refs do a great job. Refs do make mistakes. We see it every week at the college and professional level with calls being reversed after the replay.

I've seen some bad calls this year but have to say it's a lot harder than it looks to call a game. It's easy to see from above and second guess. With that being said I saw at least 2 really bad calls at the Collins vs North Oldham game. One was the touchdown catch in the corner in front of the goal line and the other was a fumble recovery that was overturned after the players had left the field to change possession. The rest is just ticky tacky stuff.

In High school if you kick a FG and the ball does become a touchback , it is put at the 20 yard line not at the spot of the kick like NCAA or Pro????? This has been missed this year. Watching to many NCAA games?

If you kick a field goal, don't they give you 3 points ? They do where my teams play

I assume they mean a missed fg?

I think the biggest issue I've seen this year is where coaches are whispering in the ears of officials before the game on things they need to watch from the opponent. Then watching that get called 7-8 times in a game whether it happens or not just to appease that coach.

 

WKC officials have always struggled to walk off the right distance on penalties. Offsides goes from 1st and 10 to 1st and 14. 15-yard penalties turn into 18 and 19 yard penalties.

 

They have lost several good ones due to retirement and health issues.
