Pioneer were you at some point a "Walk-on" that didn't get offered a scholarship for all of your hard work? I ask because you sure seem to be very very illogically upset about this subject.

Or get educated for free playing for a lower level program, while having the time to actually pursue a meaningful degree program instead of "The African American Studies" D1 programs use to keep kids eligible !

 

Did you ever think that maybe the kid just wanted to go to Notre Dame? I guess not but if you bothered to learn anything about this kid, perhaps you would understand why he might choose to pay his way to attend the University of Notre Dame instead of play football at a lower level program.

 

He graduated Latin for with honors (an apparent word filter violation) from Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, CA. His father is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. Notre Dame is not UNC, the kid is not majoring in African American studies. In fact he is enrolled in the college of science as a preprofessional studies major. Just in case that sounds too much like an easy degree to pursue, the science preprofessional studies program prepares students for fields such as medicine, dentistry, osteopathy, veterinary medicine, optometry, podiatry, physical therapy, occupational therapy, public health, pharmacy and post-baccalaureate nursing. Students who complete this program will earn a Bachelor of Science in Preprofessional Studies.

 

I'd guess that if the kid successfully earns the degree that he is pursuing than he will likely tack on even more student debt. in med school. However, that should'nt be much of an issue if in fact he becomes a doctor with a N.D. degree. I'd guess that his reasons for attending Notre Dame have very little to do with football and much more with academics and football is just something he enjoys on top of everything else. But yeah he probably would have been better off being a stud RB at Kentucky Wesleyan or somewhere else. At least he wouldn't have any student debt. Right?
