Windows 10 and Edge Explorer

Featured Replies

I uninstalled windows 10 and went back to win 7. Win 10 was pegging my processor out at 100 even on my brand new laptop that has more than enough speed, harddrive and ram. Win 10 is not ready yet. Microsoft continues it's track record of releasing a half concocted operating system and using the mass public as beta testers. But on the brighter side at least this time it was free!

Windows is not the problem here. More than likely it's some piece of software or hardware you have that's not compatible and it's crushing your resources trying to figure out what to do.

That's neither Microsoft nor a Windows problem. They can't be expected to be 100% compatible with every piece of software or hardware in the world.

Misplaced blame here for sure.

My work systems are so outdated I'm afraid they will not work with 10. So I'm still waiting for the go ahead. Not a chrome fan. Just cause it's not what I'm used to. The Mrs. TAC has that god awful 8 or whatever is is. I can't use her laptop

Windows 8 was not a bad OS at all. The general public just can't accept and adapt to any change. Windows 8 made things easier and quicker to get to your stuff you just had to do so in a different manner and everyone freaked.

Now, Windows 10 takes some parts of 7 and the best parts of 8 and combined then. 10 is great.

Took the laptop back to windows 8 same software on it and its running fast and no glitches? The desktop was older, ran vista, upgraded the ram, video card, and upgraded it to win 7. I thought win 10 may have been a stretch so that didnt surprise me. The laptop coming to a dead halt when typing and apps taking forever to open did surprise me. Its less than a year old came with win 8 as the oem. These weren't multitasking issues. Just normal email and stuff. I can't tell you why win 10 didn't work on it. I can just tell you it didn't.

That still doesn't mean that it's a Windows issue. Sounds like hardware incompatibility.

On a brand new laptop? Dell. Win 10 is suppose to be compatible with everything. I left it on there for a couple months to see if any updates would resolve it. But no luck. The thing I can't get around is win 8 and win 10 are basically the same os. So why does one work well and not the other.

None of what you just said is true. They are not the same OS, and Windows 10 does not claim to be compatible with everything.

What's the make and model of your laptop?

Seems to me they admitted defeat and tried to convert to more of an Apple style os?

As you mentioned, it was the change that was hard to adapt to. She gets on her system maybe once a week and even after a class she was still struggling. She would ask me for help and Since I was not used to it, I was no help.

What the problem with Firefox? I've always used it and never had an issue.

@Fear the Nation have you updated your hardware drivers? I would look at the video driver to be specific.
