I'm not saying it doesnt matter. Every parent supports their child. After checking it out more, Paige was on the '99 team at Knott. But that team didnt win state. I would never slight any child , but in post 12 you said a girl was on the state winning team. There wasnt one. By the way TBF, the 10 yr. old team in '98 also had 9 years old on it. It's these 9 yr. olds that won it again in '01 as 12's.

this is hilarious....

How about some spelling skills:

Statmaster, can you spell T-E-S-T-O-T-E-R-O-N-E ???

Why yes I can. It's actually like this.

testosterone . :D

Incognito, I bet we that don't know everything really irritate the one that THINK'S that they do    I am going to back off if I can, I started this conversation to give credit to Raceland Kids (and Boyd's) and I can't see arguing with some people over youth baseball.

Wow now, THINKS!!! if you really wanted to put this to bed you would not have put it that way without getting in one more dig. ARE YOU MY WIFE, just kiddin. I am a reader not a poster as you can tell by my # of posts. I am a 69 year old grad of Virgie High school, my only ties to BC a friend of mines grandson plays there and just like to watch him play, I have coached youth sports for over 25 years, and admire anyone who gives their time to youth. I was at central park the first time Frances Bavier hit his first ground rule double into the tree in left field, never will forget that smile on his face. Been nice chating with you old rambler. PS I only post facts and opinions, with my wifes permission. SEE YA.

We all know girls cant play sports, especially with guys. If that girl was on the team, I am sure it was purely for Title IX reasons. She should have stayed home and played hopscotch and not taken the spot from one of the boys who probably deserved it.

In my experience it helps to add some smilie faces, etc when you post something like above. Otherwise someone might think you really believe that.

I mean it's obvious by now to anyone who has been involved in youth baseball, or even watched it for a reasonable period of time, that there are girls in the age group being discussed that can be competitive with boys.

I recall watching several in LL through the years - as well as a starter on a KY LL state championship team.

Hope that clarifies things :thumb:

Old Rambler

1974 Ramblers went 12-8-1 (tied Morgan 2-2 on May 8), beat Russell twice lost to Greenup Co. 3 times and lost a DH to Paintsville on April 27 (8-1, & 9-4). They did start the season 6-0

Wow, this thread has me feeling like I'm trapped in some time warp - though some might say I'm always warped:sssh:

I have a hard time remembering what day of the week it is and so many on here have such long ago details that are great/pretty good/fairly accurate/guesstimations/vague recollections/hazy recall/excited utterances/psychotic delusions :D :D :D :D :D

So, I heard this rumor that there was a HS game between Raceland & Boyd recently. Can anyone fill us in ?

Just having fun guys ;)

Cheers, Woody Jr

Woody your right....lets get it back to the game folks before this thread is closed.:thumb:

:thumb: No problem, I probably should had let it go but just really feel strong about youth sports. I am personal friends with several of the parents of kids on that team. I coached youth sports - (baseball & basketball) for quite a few years and really enjoyed it. Sometimes my memory from years back gets kinda foggy and I get some numbers wrong on post about years ago but I admit it when i do and go on. BGP is great and most on here do this in good fun.:thumb:

Eagle I checked wit a good friend and team member of that 74' team and I apologize that I had posted the numbers wrong, that many years ago things tend to get foggy. The wrong numbers were not posted intentionally. The one I talked confirmed that your number was close if not right on, he said he thought that they opened up around 11-0 but could be wrong. He said that Ramblers were unbeaten, lost a DH to Boyd and the Bottom pretty much fell out after that. I am going to try and leave this thread now  :thumb:

I see where you are coming from Woody, but anybody who has ever read TBF's posts knows exactly where he was coming from. Especially since he has daughters that are athletes as well.

My apologies for hijacking this thread.

Good Luck to both Raceland and BC.
