If Suarez is on this roster in 2016 the Reds failed in the offseason. He should be major trade bait in the off season.

Oh, I can't wait to hear your logic behind trading a 24 year old young ML caliber player that is under team control on the cheap until 2021....This is going to be rich. Please give your rationale.

He cant play defense and its not going to get better, just watch him.

He needs to go to an AL team that can DH him some. Great bat, horrible glove.

His defense has been terrible at SS. He's perfect for 2B.

Of the trio of Phillips/Cozart/Suarez, they'll try in the offseason to move Phillips. If that doesn't work they may try to move Cozart. If neither of those occur they'll have Suarez playing at AAA every day.

That makes no sense, he cant field a ground ball period.

Because he's making errors in his 2nd season, it means he'll never be able to play good defense? He did have a .968 Fielding % last year as rook. I know you'll say that's terrible but tell that to Ozzie Smith (.970 his rookie year) or Derek Jeter (.969 his rookie year)... They ended up alright.

Yes he's having a rough year this year but he was just traded, adjusting to a new place and was called up to replace a few good fielder in Cozart. Give him some time to get settled.

Get more bats for him. His offense this year should bring more value.

It makes perfect sense if you actually understand baseball. You don't have to cover as much territory, you have more time so you don't have to rush throws, etc.

You know who else stunk at SS? A guy most on here claim is the greatest defensive 2B of their lifetime, Brandon Phillips. The guy was horrendous defensively. He made the switch to 2B and now look.

He isn't as bad as people make him out to be. He's 24, people are way to impatient. Last season he was a little better than this season. He has a strong arm and smooth actions he just struggles with the easy play right now. He had a .968 fld% last season in about a half a season, not far off from the career average of Jose Reyes for comparisons sake. Peralta who Suarez happens to remind me of took a while to figure it out. Starlin Castro is horrible but hasn't been moved. Jeter struggled a bit in the beginning. Larkin struggled. Most young SS have an adjustment period but you can always see the tools, it's usually the routing plays that give them fits. Same story with Suarez, the tools are there. I would give him until after next season before moving him to second ala BP. Franchise SS are to hard to find to move him so soon, the bat right now looks to be legit. Only time will tell and he hasn't had nearly enough time. He had a run of the yips from 6/23 thru 7/1 where he committed 7 errors in 9 games. Outside of that stretch he has only made 3 errors in the other 33 games.
