July 24, 201511 yr How is the roster determined for Team USA in the Pan Am Games? Honestly, this is an embarrassment of a team. I know it's the Pan Am Games but what are the stipulations on the roster? Surely, they could have came up with something a little stronger.

July 24, 201511 yr Author I don't know but this team looks like a bunch of jobbers. They just got worked by Brazil and this isn't the good Brazil team. I'm not even sure they have any NBA players on their roster.

July 24, 201511 yr I was watching the game tonight vs Canada and was getting ready to post a thread basically asking how this team got picked. Just an odd combo.
July 25, 201511 yr Four years ago for the Pam Am games it was decided to use a roster of D League players. This time it is a mixed roster using some college players. Bottom line USA basketball has already qualified for the 2016 Olympics so there is no need to make a good showing in these games Olympics-wise. Like it has been mentioned it is not like USA basketball dominated these games previously. The USA women lost to Canada in the Gold Medal game. Canada had UConn, ND etc. players.
