I think Owensboro are Pretenders.

 

Several Reasons:

 

1. Lost a great Coach

2. Lost a very good QB, not sure who they have, but has 0 starts and going to a new offense that hasn't been tested yet.

3. 4-A West was easy or was it a little luck? Madisonville had them down by 24-7 at half. Give OHS credit they won.

4. It took a Hail Mary or tipped pass 3 times to beat North Oldham. Again, They won.

5. Had the Champ on the Ropes and "let em off the hook" and then lost.

6. Christian County, a district foe, returns about 14 starters who were sophmores last year. They are better then North Oldham and in their District.

7. Graves is a tough team and I believe OHS goes down there.

8. Bowling Green, who OHS has yet to beat since 2007. Is in their region.

 

Don't get me wrong I hope they get there. I think their ROAD in the playoffs is a lot harder then it was in 2014 and they had to have a ton of luck in that road. The First two reasons are huge reasons.

 

AND DEM BLUEBIRDS ROAD going to be a toughy. Pulaski County in the Semis?

OCath-Contender. Now, having said that, it's gong to be next to impossible for them to win state. Any team that puts them out will have to earn it. Mayfield is going to be rough and that's if they can get past Murray.

 

Owensboro-Contender. The Devils have a ton of talent back and there are a few unknowns for OHS. If Jay Fallin is a good hire and OHS finds a qb, look out. BG will be a massive road block but OHS takes on the purps in the regular season. If OHS can make it back they'll have the speed advantage on highlands again. Hopefully this time OHS will not forget to the the guys in space and burn them birds for 4 quarters.

They will play Bowling Green, Graves, Christian Co., Madisonville, Warren Central, Owensboro Catholic, Henderson Co (Henderson has beaten them 5 of the last 6 years) in the regular season. Probably see Christian and BG in the Playoffs again.
