The rumor is Villari quit. Cooper has no one. Looks like their chances at a region title just went down the tubes.

It takes a lot more than 1 player to win the Region, especially the 9th. But even with Villari, who liked Cooper's chances to win the 9th?

I meant that now they have no one... to set. I think they would have been a fairly talented team with a lot of potential if they had someone to run the offense. I'm not saying they would have been able to win the 9th, but the talent is surely there.

I'm sure they can find someone. Imo, the girl they tried to groom last year for the replacement, not sure if it was Villari or not, but this girl didn't exactly knock my socks off. I can't see her missing from the team as a great loss.

Sure. I would say up until tryouts. and maybe after that. If a stud player transfers into the school the day before school starts, is the volleyball team going to turn that down?

I agree. And please don't take this the wrong way. I have heard that the coach at Cooper is very intense/demanding/... and it rubs a lot of the players the wrong way. Maybe the kid will be back when they have time to think about it. I hate seeing kids give up 1 of their 4 years for any reason.

It all depends on needs. Right now teams are holding open gyms,not practices. I'm sure it will be over looked with all the club commitments these kids have.

I guess I got bad information. She isn't playing! Not sure who they had on JV or what is coming up as a freshman. Maybe a rough season for the Cooper ladies.

I just can't see Cooper being any good until their coaching staff improves. I'm sure they have good intentions but parents with players there have told me they don't utilize their talent very well...some kids on varsity should really be on JV and vice versa. I have no insight into why the setter left but if she was the obvious choice for this year and voluntarily chose not to return it should speak volumes about the situation.

Parents have always and will always think they are a better coach, and evaluate talent, better than their coach. Regardless of the sport! It has been going on forever.

 

As far as the setter, I question if she was the obvious choice. I will agree it was her job to lose. I guess she lost it when she decided not to play.
