Congratulations to former Henry Clay star Walker Buehler

Congratulations to my neighbor and former Henry Clay and current Vanderbilt star pitcher Walker Buehler! He was drafted in the first round and 24th pick of the MLB draft to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

 

His slotted signing bonus is targeted at $ 2,094,400.

 

He still has some unfinished business for the Commodores who look to win their second straight College World Series.

 

The Dodgers are getting a pretty polished pitcher who has a huge upside. He is in the Zach Greinke mold.

His dad, all 5'5" of him, was a really good athlete at Anderson High School in Cincinnati in the 80's. We share a mutual friend so I've been following Walker for quite a while.

 

Really happy for him and his family -- do great things young man.
