In May, the NKY Coach's association has their annual awards banquet. Part of the banquet is to award 5 student athletes scholarship awards. Players are nominated by their coaches for excellence in the classroom, the community and on the field. Several applications are scanned by outside parties to come up with 5 players. As all applicants are deserving, only 5 are awarded.

 

Below is Biz's thank you note sent to the coach's association and the NKY Umpire association (who help fund the scholarships). It's refreshing to see this kind of appreciation still exists in you young adults. Nice job Biz!

Hello!

I just wanted to reach out and thank the Northern Kentucky Umpires Association for their sponsorship of the scholarships awarded at the 2015 Northern Kentucky Softball Coaches Association banquet and especially your support of Northern Kentucky High School softball. Thank you also to the Northern Kentucky Softball Coaches Association for their input and acknowledgment during the selection process in which I was graciously awarded one of those scholarships. It is truly an honor to receive the scholarship and is greatly appreciated as I use it towards college tuition.

 

I thank you all again for everything you do for the Northern Kentucky softball community and again so much for my scholarship award.

Classy gesture from an excellent player/person. Like I said last year......little things like this make the biggest impression. Congrats to Biz.

 

BTW, we only give out 3 scholarships, but if anyone would like to donate we can bump it up to 5 next year.

I recently had the opportunity to meet Elizabeth and her parents. Extremely nice and gracious folks.

I always enjoy the players that we can watch mature through their years and then demonstrate what solid members of society they have become. This young lady has always been a very respectful competitor. That is becoming more of a rarity. Congratulations to Biz as she moves along.
