May 24, 201511 yr “If you’re not going to dream big, then why dream?” he said. “I want to compete. Andy’s our starter, I know that. I love Andy to death. Andy’s always been there for me. He’s been like a big brother to me. But I’m going to compete and try to push him the best I can and have his back — always. He’s our starter, I know that, but I want to make him better in every way that I can. Like I told him, hopefully one day me and him can be retired and look back on it and we’re both 100 million-dollar guys. That’s my dream. And I’ll always be that way. So that’s what I want to do.” A.J. McCarron sees himself and Andy Dalton as two future stars | ProFootballTalk
May 24, 201511 yr As delusional as it might be, i wouldn't have a young qb on my team that didn't think that way
May 25, 201511 yr I Dont think he ever said Dalton is a star. Dalton did get a 100 million dollar contract and he wants one to one day.
May 25, 201511 yr Hopefully the coaches allow him to actually compete for the starting job because I'd love to see him taking snaps this year. Unfortunately the coaches will only talk of a competition but already have Dalton penciled in for the entire year.
May 26, 201511 yr if I were to look in the same mirror, I'd see an overpaid game manager that has barely done enough to keep the garbage off his front yard (see Carson Palmer) but not enough to distinguish himself from a great college qb that has yet to take a snap in the NFL. I think those two are interchangeable, talent wise.
