Great night for fishing the weather was perfect. I caught 5 bass. I broke my line 4 times not sure if i had one or if i was hooked on something. I think both. Fun time regardless haven't fished in forever.

I plan on going fishing soon... Maybe take Pops for Father's Day. I haven't been in years.

I haven't gone as much this year as I normally do. I've been several time though, nothing to really brag about.....yet....... Wireman, I'm heading to Herrington June 5th. Have you been yet?

Have been fortunate to spend 21 days fishing Pickwick Lake, Tennessee from April 5th through 25th and 23 days in Canada, May 14th through June 5th, fishing the North Channel of Lake Huron. Was able to get out and fish each day, and most often twice a day.

At Pickwick when I arrived the water was 2 feet below winter pool, and when I left the water was 2 feet over summer pool. Caught lots of quality 14 to 18 inch largemouth and quite a few "solid" smallmouth from 15 to 19 inches. In addition, there were plenty of hook-ups with channel cats, drum, and one 35 pound Buffalo.

I caught a personal best 6 pound largemouth.

We arrived in Canada to find spring already in progress with a water temperature of 49 degrees, unlike a year ago when it was still winterlike conditions. The difference was that the big pike had moved out of the bays and back to big water. Whereas last year we probably caught ten pike over 30 inches, this year we caught one 35 incher, and the next largest for the trip was 29 inches.

We fish for fish, so we also encountered some incredibly nice 20 inch class smallmouth, four muskies with the largest being 44 inches, and a million walleye. This was the best year in my 24 years of fishing here that I have ever seen for walleye.

All in all both trips were wonderful. I've signed on for three weeks again next spring at Pickwick and four weeks next spring in Canada.

My Pickwick report is located elsewhere on this forum, and I will post a Canadian report shortly.

How'd you do at Herrington???

Went to Cumberland this past weekend. They have screwed with the water level all spring. Crossed the dam and the river looked normal. On the way back you could walk across it it was so low. Either way Saturday stunk, but Sunday morning we loaded the boat. 4 stripes on top, 2 smallies over 21", a 4lb largemouth and 6 Kys fat as footballs. And to beat all right before we left we caught an 8lb flathead. Good stuff

How'd you do at Herrington???

My son had something come up, we are going this Friday. I'll give an update.
