U 14. My boys drew Javanon in their first game. It will be a good one.

Not the greatest of draws for your boys but if you can get some payback for the league match they won last month, you will only need to win another match to move onto the semis.

Our draw is similar, will only need to win 2 matches in order to play the second weekend.

We have tangled with their top team in our age group twice in tournaments, each winning one, but both games separated by only 1 goal. They are really solid, and I assume that is the type of club where they are very good at every age level.

They are very good at retaining possession and passing the ball. The boys get to practice a couple of times/week with and against the Ohio South champs from last year so they are used to seeing that skill. It comes down to staying disciplined. Last time they played them they got blitzed in the first 10 minutes. 3-0 like that, and then pulled one back. The other two were a soft penalty and from trying to get back in it. They make you pay for any mistake. I like watching them for sure.

YellowCard, if I can ask, what age group are you watching?

Today was an education in soccer...Javan on was incredible.

I saw you guys playing on #3 when we got there, we played at 1:30. Sorry the result was not a good one today for your boys.

That team was so superior that it was the fairest result.

Hopefully with another year of training, and match experience, they will be poised to make a deeper run in the tourney.

Tryouts will be interesting. Your new coach raved about you guys. Sounds like you lit the 1st weekend up. Some kid had like 5 goals and 3 assists. Can't remember his name ?

Yes, they did have a good weekend... I think the scores were 6-1 & 5-0... 2 more wins to go though.

My daughter's girls team will be in ETown this weekend for finals. Hopefully they can pull it off - it would be a nice end to the season.
