So what you're saying is the state does have enough talent to compete consistently at the EYBL level?

This is also the first year they lost two players right before the season, if you think they wouldn't have more wins with Quentin Goodin and Tray Hollowell you're crazy

In a perfect world where one team had all of the top 10 kids, a team from KY would still not finish in the top of the EYBL far more often than not. Would probably qualify for Peach Jam most years though if that is the goal. This isn't fantasy land, and one team isn't going to have more than 4 or 5 of the top 10.

I know people get defensive when I bring it up, but the state simply lacks high end talent. If 3 kids end up playing high major, it is an up year. That's a lack of talent...

I'm pretty sure making the peach jam is considered consistently competing at the EYBL level.

Your lack of talents comment have no basis in anything unless you're comparing Kentucky to other states. Kentucky is doing just fine talent wise

So they weren't one win away last season from making it out of pool play at peach jam? After losing Ray Spalding and Christian Thieneman? Plus they didn't have several of Kentucky's best 2015 kids.

What about two seasons ago when they made some noise at Peach Jam? That was without Shane Hall, Jordan Green, Trey Grundy, Quentin Snider or D'Angelo Russell?

Point is there is plenty of talent every year in the state to compete at the EYBL level, that's true this year and it'll be true for the 2017 and 2018 classes.

So, why isn't the EYBL flagship in the state getting the best talent, and struggling to hold on to them when it does?

Sorry but I've seen them at two events this year, and they aren't putting a Peach Jam quality team on the floor. Luckily for them there are about 10 others in the same boat this season...

There are too many reasons this year for that and it's not the point of this conversation.

I've never argued the team they currently have this year is peach jam good, we're talking about if the state consistently puts out enough talent to compete in the EYBL.

You originally said it doesn't and then contradicted yourself saying if the Travelers had the best kids in the state they'd consistently make Peach Jam which is the definition of being competitive in the EYBL.

When competing against other states, it is a constant comparison against other states. Imagine one Virginia team combining Loaded, Boo and Takeover to just name 3. That is the fantasy game you want to play, and the end result is bad for KY in most instances. Those teams have more high major prospects in their starting 5 than KY does as a state...

And the team with the most high major prospects doesn't always win. Did the Travelers beat E1T1 last year without Ray Spalding playing most of the game? Ben Simmons might not have played but E1T1 still has more HM kids than KY does a year right?

This is what you said: "There simply isn't enough talent in the state to compete consistently at the EYBL level"

That quote has nothing to do with what teams get who and if they can even get 5 of the top 10 kids in the state. It's about if there is enough talent in the state to compete in the EYBL, which there is

You are going to hang your hat on beating a team without the #1 player in the country who had the ball in his hands constantly when on the floor? We're done here... :lol2:

No but it's just one example of the Travelers beating a team with more talent, which they've consistently done the last two years.

I am speaking in reality world. If we are playing your fantasy world game, every EYBL team has the top 10 kids in their state and KY can't compete...

So does reality world include your quote which you've basically agreed was wrong or no? Or does it include the Travelers have made the Peach Jam two out of three years in Kentucky, which is considered competing consistently?

My point has been this whole time that Kentucky does produce enough talent to compete in the EYBL or any national circuit. I believe I've proven that so I'm done..

My question is why don't the Travelers get the best players in the state? Do they have tryouts or invites or are they pre picked before hand.

Andre Mahorn is one of the best coaches in the EYBL. That's why they've been able to compete with lesser talent.

I'd agree there...
