I bet the ipad overheated again

.... Wow... pretty good game by both teams today... Almost... but with nothing at stake, a similar atmosphere to the region finals last year. Great crowd on hand at the Bird Cage tonight as there was not a parking spot to be had.

Plenty of excitement down to the last pitch as the Panda best the Birds 3-2.

Spencer in the Circle for HHS and Smith for NDA and both pitched good ball games. The Birds did well gathering 9 hits against one of the very top, if not the top, pitchers in the region. They just could not get that key hit to open it up. They left 12 runners on base in this one... unusual for the Birds as they have been pretty efficient getting base runners in.

NDA on the other hand, took advantage of a couple HHS miscues and had a big double scoring two runs on Radford's Double. The Pandas stranded 6 on 5 hits.

Smith 5 Ks 1 BB 9 hits 1 ER

Spencer 1 K 1 BB 5 hits 1 ER

1st inning

NDA FO-8, Baugh reached on an error, FO-9, FO-8

The Birds dent the plate in the first on a FO-8, Coffey Single, Graybill Single, K, Dutcher reached on an error scoring Coffey then FO-8

Score 1-2 NDA

4th inning

NDA Miller Single, Huston Sac bunt, Meier HBP, LO-5, Baugh single 7 scoring Miller, GO-4-3

The Bird wrap up their Regular Season tomorrow at Home against Ryle at 5:30

You guys suck by the way... Somebody had to help put the pa away after the JV game which the Birds won 13-8 btw and Morgan "Junior" Coffey hit a home run in BTW and then drive out here to the sticks...

Lastly before this thing dies... For those of you that enjoyed the game at Winkler Field tonight and would like to see it complete... There is a fundraiser Saturday night to help finish it.. Great Band... Good food ... And probably a nice adult beverage or two to be had at The Carnegie. PM me for details... Sorry for the shameless plug but it does pertain to tonight's venue...

Excellent report, you obviously learned from a professional. :D

But in all seriousness, it's great, it's almost like being at the game. :thumb:

Nice pics Allen, as usual! Notice the text book positioning of the catcher on both plays at the plate, great fundamentals from both teams. This game, like most between good teams, comes down to execution. ND made several difficult catches and had the two out/two strike flare into RF that sent the runners home. The Birds couldn't get the hit needed to plate the runner from third in multiple innings.

Either team , along with a couple of others can take the region. They have the pitching, fundamentals...... Just need to execute plays, gonna be a great regional tourney!

Holy Cow! Is that Capt. Jean Luc Picard behind the dish calling balls and strikes?!?
