No it doesn't. Maybe on another level it says something about KY voters, particularly older white men to send a young woman to Washington. More times than I care to remember I heard comments like " I hate that McConnell but that little girl will get eaten alive up there. I think some, particularly the older crowd, just can't fathom " a young woman doing a man's job." I think for many of them when they got in that voting booth wanting to vote against the Turtle, they just couldn't pull the trigger because of some deeply held beliefs. They chose the guy they didn't like who knew his way around DC over the woman who should be home cutting up taters.

You may have heard that in your circle, but I never heard any negative talk about Grimes as far as gender went.

Had Conway have ran, instead of getting talked (bought) out of the race I think he may have won...but he decided to settle for Governor instead. I have a lot of friends on the left that were saying some nasty things about some women that ran as republicans in the past, so that kind of thought process definitely is just with one party.

Oh you are absolutely right! That thought process I was referring to is most certainly not confined to one party.

Not that I think she had a legit chance one way or another against McConnell, but I heard lots of those comments about her, and my circle includes people from all over the political spectrum. Surely you weren't just letting some comments you heard slide. I mean, you're really not trying to paint sexism as a strictly Democratic Party problem, right?
