April 27, 201511 yr Reds are something like 0 for their last 22 and Orioles were like 11 for 20 yesterday in one game. I think they said on the radio that they are 0 for their last 20 with RISP.
April 27, 201511 yr I think they said on the radio that they are 0 for their last 20 with RISP. Reds have one legitimate hitter with any consistency and that is Votto. All of the other hitters in their line up are 7 and 8 hitters. That is a big problem.
April 27, 201511 yr Hey @LRCW lets get this thing going. I want to complain about Meso not playing his position in the last 15 days and still not being on the DL.

Or how about that tweet that you retweeted today: @jluckhaupt: Only 3 lineup positions in baseball do not have an extra-base hit: Reds 4th spot Pirates 8th spot Reds 9th spot
April 27, 201511 yr Since we don't have a series thread... Tonight's lineup: Hamilton CF Cozart SS Votto 1B Frazier 3B Bruce RF Phillips 2B Byrd LF Pena C Marquis P 15 straight days playing a man down. Swell job guys.
April 27, 201511 yr If Mes can pinch hit, how are the playing a man down? It sucks he can't do more right now but I'd rather have him pinch hitting than someone like Dominquez.

Umm, because he can't play the field. They're playing with 4 bench players instead of the 5 that every other team in baseball has.

April 27, 201511 yr So your saying you'd rather just put him on the DL and bring up someone from Louisville
April 27, 201511 yr So your saying you'd rather just put him on the DL and bring up someone from Louisville I'd rather have a full compliment of players and have him DL'd until he's ready to play again. He's had all of 3 PH appearances, which have been a BB, a K, and a BB. So it's not like he's been providing them a boost of the bench as a PH'er. The Reds simply aren't good enough to be playing a man down for this extended period of time. A handful of games, sure. It's been 15 days. There isn't another team in the league that would leave a guy, unable to actually play, on the active roster for that long.
April 27, 201511 yr If there was a viable option in Louisville I would agree with you. From what I read, he's a few days away from giving it a try in a bullpen session. If they were to bring someone up, chances are they would not be starting anyways.

If they were to bring someone up, chances are they would not be starting anyways. He was a few days away from a bullpen session during the Cardinals series too. They have no clue what's going on with him. It's about having a guy on the bench that you can actually play. A team with a couple really solid bench players can afford to play a man down for a few games. Teams with marginal talent playing everyday can't. The Reds are the latter.
