Looks awesome......a love a clean soccer field before those unneeded football lines clutter things up.

OTB.... The fruits of my labor, notice it is nice grass and is not all cluttered up with the hash marks, and numbers, we normally have to deal with.

We will be there Saturday, after the first football game. Sweet.

They disigned this area horribly, to make this field any wider you would have to rip out the track. Maybe starting over would be a good idea. I believe the girls played at home last night and the boys do the same tonight. Then I would imagine the field goes down hill from there.

Definitely. But it really goes down hill when any sport plays on the field if it rains 1-2 days before it. The draining is so bad that it is still muddy and one game on it destroys it. The wear and tear in the middle of the field every year is just the constant use, nothing to do about that unless they built a separate soccer or football field on the campus which isn't possible because of funding and space.

 

Bottom line, Boone County Board needs to reward STUDENT-ATHLETE'S that bring in a ton of money to the school and install turf!

Cooper's field always looks like this when the season starts. The constant beating of the field from numerous games a week is what takes its toll. It doesn't matter what kind of maintenance you do on the field, when you have 6 soccer games a week, 2 football games a week on it the field is going to be a mess.

 

Not to mention, the lack of draining that was installed when the field was put in. It is frustrating, especially knowing how much money and time the AD puts into that field to make it look nice.

 

I LOVE Cooper's field! It's the only pitch in NKY that's worse than Boone's by mid season and people stop talking about how bad Boone's field is so they can complain about Cooper. Thanks for taking the heat off of us, Cooper. :clap:

By the time the varsity game started last night you could barely see the lines. It's very sad that soccer takes a back seat, because I can guarantee you it will be freshly lined for the football game against Highlands Friday night.

Your right, the lines were almost gone by end of the night, this probably was a factor in the Cooper goalie stepping out of the box in the second half. I do not think that yellow is a good choice for the lines when the grass is not green (basically tan) because of the lack of rain.

 

It is amazing to me how much the field has already changed just after 6 matches, not only were the lines hard to see, I could tell a big difference in the actual condition of the fields when comparing it to the first match played on Monday evening.

It looks that good up close as well. When you are on the field it looks nice. That is until Saturday morning, then it will look worse.

That has nothing to do with Soccer/Football and it is kind of sad to see you complain about it. The field was lined on Monday just before the girls games. It seemed whoever lined the field chose a poor color and it wasn't very thick. That has nothing to do with the football team. I believe the same person that does the football lines does the soccer lines, so perhaps you should take it up with him.

 

If you think it is reasonable to line that field every day, then come on out, buy some paint and take care of it.

 

And you are right, it will be freshly lined for the game Friday, because in case you didn't notice, there were no football lines on the field. It will get lined before the football game, just as the soccer lines were done just before the soccer games last Monday night.

KingOfClutch33, as much as I would like to believe that this has nothing to do with Soccer/Football and simply because the person lining it chose a bad color when they lined it on Monday doesn't hold water with me.

 

For 12 years I have been attending soccer games in many states. Many tournaments where the teams are playing multiple games a day for days in a row. Not even at these tournaments, and even having a game late in the day have I seen a field as poorly lined as Cooper last night.

 

Do I think a field should be lined every day, not if it isn't being use.

 

For the person who schedules having fields lined, one should take into consideration how many games are going to be played that week. Five, count them five soccer games. Yes, I think it should have been lined before the men's games.

 

When even the players can't see the line, tell me how the SLR can look down the field and determine if the ball is in or out when you can't see the line.

 

So you are saying that they will line the football field before the game Friday? I wonder if they wait at least 5 football games until the field is lined again?

 

If you were by chance at the soccer game last night you would have heard many other people complaining about it.

 

In your above comment you appear to know a lot about Cooper and who takes care of the field, I would love to know they name. The squeaky wheel gets oiled.
