My point was from another conversation where this SK team was severely hated on. And that part was thrown in because they were being defended against a heavily biased person. So I get your response, but the fact that this team is state bound gives them their own identity. They shouldnt be compared to last years team.

Going or not going to the state tournament doesn't make one team better or worse....the path to get to that tournament changes every year. But I agree with your statement, there is no reason to compare the two teams.

Not to take anything away from this SK bunch, but they are not as good as last years team.

Seriously, you just posted to a group of hard working ladies and parents that won their district/region and heading to state that they are not as good as.....they ARE just as good, they just proved it!! #ADate @DiddleArena

Congrats on the trip to diddle! It was well earned. This year's SK team was the class of the 8th region and deserved to go. That being said, they are not as good as last year's SK team (which would have had to defeat a top 3 team in the state to advance to diddle).

Come On man, Last years team played like individuals there was not a lot of team play with that group, the only one who played for the team was Cox, This year I see more of a team effort, the group making quick passes and giving it up to each other. Kelsey Schmiade had 5 assts. last night and that is what she does she creates open shots for the TEAM.

If last years team was better then they would have had the Trip to Diddle too. SK was A top team in the State too and so them having to play a Top 3 team didn't mean anything.

Congrats to SK on the trip to the sweet 16 first and foremost it's well deserved. That being said this team this year is no where near last years team with a down year in the 8th SK should come out as the top team, the Anderson teams that SK has to play the past couple years are ten times better then the Anderson county team this year. Again not taking anything away from SK they took care of business and for that there season continues just don't think they could beat last years team.

Really? Playing a top 3 team in the state in the region finals has no bearing on whether you make it to state or not?

Both teams are really good. Hard to argue that last years group wasn't better and certainly built an impressive resume during their careers. However, this years team is not finished so its hard to really put a final number on this team. This years group is much much younger than last years but have two very important Sr's that have been stellar leaders for the youngsters.

Some of you have commented about their recent play and I will say that during the first part of February the girls just flat out didn't play well. Culminating in the debacle at Highlands where they hadn't practiced in weeks, Didn't have their BIG and ultimately coaches decided to play the JV and use that game as a teaching tool and garner experience (at least that's what it looked from afar).

That being said, they are still not playing where they were around the first part of the year but they are getting close. Hopefully, they will continue to make strides and make a little noise at State.

Say what you want..... end of day they are still playing and writing their history.

It doesn't matter if they are the best or worst team in SK history; bottom-line, they are the best team in the 8th Region this year. Last year's team was the 2nd best team in the 8th Region. Congrats and Enjoy the ride. Looking forward to Thursday.

Well said. And congrats to the Lady Pioneers. Hope they represent the 8th well and get as far as they can.
