Whether there is or is not a God and why some people may be attracted to religion are two totally separate topics. You are attempting to use one to justify an inconsistency on my part for the other.

 

And what am I not being open minded about? A God is certainly possible, no one can deny that with complete certainty.

This has nothing to do with religion. Religion is a generic term. What I'm saying is simply this, if you don't believe there's a God because of lack of proof, why do you believe there is alternative life form when there is zero proof? Now if you want to say that it's more palatable to you than "religion" is then I buy that totally. Because I think it's the religion that is your hurdle. Maybe I'm wrong.

Yep, I kept waiting for someone to ask what it's from or saying how much they love the movie. It's interesting now how that movie isn't necessarily science fiction anymore.
