Question for BGP Accountants

Featured Replies

From what I gather very , very few people that receive this notice actually qualify for the refund.

I don't think I would qualify because of my income. Should I take it to my accountant and let him deal with it or should I contact the IRS office and ask them about it?

That's a legit form number and IRS center although I thought KY notices went thru Austin TX.

Thats what I was thinking KY returns go to Texas. Made me suspicious, however I dont deal with EIC to often.

Good luck calling the IRS, I spend 1 hour and 45 minutes the other day on hold till I finally go through, and that was for a 990 Return and I had a backdoor number to get to where I need to go.

Ask your accountant would be a good move, it sounds legit, but the coming from CA thing is making me question it a bit.

I'll ask them tomorrow and see what they think. I wouldn't bother with it, but it is up in the 5 figures area...so it's worth the effort just in case.

AGI must be under $43,756 if you have 2 children. Also must have investment income under $3,350.

I'd take it to your accountant to be safe.

Makes me wonder...The max credit is $5,460 for two qualifying children.

I make more money that and it's for more than $6,000. I'm beginning to wonder

Does it give a phone number that you can call about the notice?

If it's a scam, it would be a scam phone #.

Probably worth the time to call the IRS.

And that phone service is only going to get worse over the next few years. Budget gets tighter and tighter and the services get lighter and lighter.
