12th Region Draw

Featured Replies

If the 13th Region officials let the play get rough like they tend to do, i do not see Lincoln Co. beating Southwestern. I think if Wayne Co. gets by West Jessamine, which they should Boyle Co will be a much tougher game to win than Lincoln. It is a shame that only one of these top 5 teams will be able to get to the State Tour. Maybe the only other region to have as hard a road to go is the 11th, which our region will have to play.

Just curious as to who the 5th team is in your top 5 team reference. Sounds like you are including West Jessamine in that group?

You say "if" Wayne can get by West and that you think Lincoln will lose to Southwest (which they wouldn't). So, it must be a given that Southwest beats Mercer, right?

Personally, I think Boyle and Mercer are the two teams that benefit the most if the refs actually let the teams play. They are by far the two most athletic teams. It plays to their strengths.

I think Mercer is the 5th best team, even though ihave only seen clips of them. Watched Boyle Co play their games on prepspin during tournament at Lexington Catholic. Maybe Mercer can stay with Southwestern, but i do know how physical SW can be and what little i have seen on Mercer, just do not believe they can stay with a physical game. I certainly hope Mercer beats them because if Wayne is fortunate to get to championship game i do not want to see SW again. They have physically beat us to death after 3 games this year. I do not believe any games will be pushovers at this time of year.

Wayne co is so hard to guard. Especially if the refs don't let you stay up in them and when you get in foul trouble it limits how physical you can be. The 13th refs to me is a mix bag. Some call everything and some let you beat the heck out of people. Williamsburg vs South the other night they let them beat each other to death for 3q and then called everything the last quarter. So who knows what you are gonna get.

There's a difference in physical and dirty. A lot of Wayne fans' comments have referenced dirty play by SW in their games vs Wayne. I personally have not seen SW play this year but have plenty of times in past years under Coach Wright. I am familiar with their personnel and, outside of Gaskin, they don't seem like a physically imposing team. Also, they seem to play a lot of zone. Usually, the "let them play" scenario benefits teams that play more aggressive defense such as Wayne, Boyle and Mercer. Those 3 play a lot of man - if they can stay out of foul trouble. That's often a problem in the 12th where silly, inconsequential fouls are called.

As for the SW - Mercer game, SW will not play man.

Definitely making the trip to the final!

Think Wayne and Southwestern have the likeliest chance of being upset in the first round. IMO Lincoln and Boyle have the easiest road, but those second round matchups could go any number of ways - awesome to see. Going to be exciting from the first game to the last.

No easy road for Boyle County. I do think Lincoln County won the draw and got the draw they were hoping to get.

If Pulaski has a good night and comes to play they will give Boyle all they want. Pulaski has improved alot.

The first meeting was closer than the score indicates.

I think Boyle got the "easiest" 1-seed. It'll still be a battle.

TBH, every first round game should be. Could honestly see Lincoln overlooking Casey and getting upset. Each team is going to have to bring it every night.
